Roger Shindell leads Carosh Compliance Solutions with more than 40 years of multidisciplinary experience in healthcare, technology, and professional services. A recognized industry expert, Roger is the former Chair of the HIMSS Privacy and Security Committee’s Risk Assessment Work Group and a former Council Member on AHIMA’s Privacy and Security Practice Council.
His leadership, expertise, and deep understanding of risk, compliance, and operational needs have shaped Carosh into a trusted partner for thousands of healthcare organizations nationwide.
Stephanie Lathrop, CHPC, SHRM-CP
With a diverse background that spans county government, accounting, tax, and entrepreneurship, Stephanie brings more than a decade of experience in operational leadership and business development. She is Certified in Healthcare Privacy Compliance, holds an Accounting Degree, and is a Certified Professional through the Society for Human Resource Management.
Stephanie’s unique blend of public- and private-sector experience fuels her passion for helping organizations strengthen their operations through compliance—protecting their practices while empowering them to grow.
Robert O’Meara
Robert brings over 30 years of senior-level software development, engineering, and project management experience, including a long tenure with GE Health. As a lead system designer, he directed engineering teams and managed large-scale development initiatives.
At Carosh, Robert oversees all development for the HIPAA Suite® platform—both coding and engineering management—ensuring our technology remains robust, intuitive, and aligned with evolving compliance needs.
Dean Sorensen, MBA, CISSP, CPHIMSS
Dean is a seasoned expert with more than 30 years of experience in IT, strategic planning, finance, HR, and operations. He has managed budgets exceeding $35 billion and led teams of more than 180 individuals.
A thought leader in healthcare and financial services security, Dean brings deep expertise in risk management, network design, application software, and business continuity. His ability to analyze, streamline, and transform organizational processes helps clients build resilient, technology-forward operations.
Jim Valavanis
Jim is a veteran IT professional with more than 30 years of technical experience across network design, network security, and administration of Windows, macOS, Unix, and Linux systems. Beginning his career at the Chicago Board Options Exchange, he quickly developed hands-on expertise with advanced enterprise technologies.
Jim has managed technical teams, implemented high-availability network solutions, and leveraged open-source tools to reduce costs while strengthening security. He holds a bachelor’s degree in computer engineering from Iowa State University as well as certifications in Linux Administration, Dell Hardware, and Cisco SMB specialization.
